Learning Outcomes

On satisfactory completion of this unit, you will be able to demonstrate that you:

  1. understand the principal of intellectual ownership and can employ academic conventions
    (correctly formatted bibliography and properly cited quotations)
  2. can access and utilise open-access UAL and college based computing, library and learning resources
    (references from the web, library and other sources)
  3. can reflect critically on your learning
    (report looks critically at how you performed and what you learnt)

Assessment Evidence

An individual report of 400-500 words, in the form of a blog posting, evaluating your contribution to the project and citing your sources using a correctly formatted bibliography.

Assessment Criteria

Unsatisfactory (Fail) (0 – 39%)
There is no evidence of evaluation and/or reflection in the report (blog posting). For instance it might only contain a descriptive account of the game design and research process. There is no bibliography. There are quotes in the report but the author of this material is not cited.
Satisfactory (40 – 54%)
There is some evidence of evaluation and/or reflection in the report but this is either a very small part of the overall piece or it is not very carefully considered. There is a bibliography but it is not correctly formatted or only contains a very few sources or only the sources mentioned in the brief. Any quotes in the report are cited.
Good (55 – 69%)
There is evidence of evaluation and/or reflection in the report and this forms the majority of the material. The bibliography is correctly formatted but may not have many additional sources from those in the brief. Any quotes in the report are properly cited.
Very Good (70 – 84%)
The report contains good quality evaluation and/or reflection throughout. The bibliography is correctly formatted and contains mostly sources that are different from those in the brief. Any quotes in the report are properly cited.
Excellent (85 – 100%)
The report contains carefully considered and perceptive evaluation and/or reflection throughout. The bibliography is correctly formatted and contains numerous interesting sources that are different from those in the brief. Any quotes in the report are properly cited.
